French Space Agency to Publish UFO Archives

Via earthtimes.org -

PARIS: French space agency the Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales has decided to publish its archive of UFO sightings and related phenomena online. The agency said it has data of around 1,600 incidents and details on these will be available online by the end of January or early February.

The agency will, however, not publicize the names of people who reported the incidents.

A spokesperson for the agency said the agency had been collecting data on UFOs, including statements from people who claim to have sighted them, for around 30 years.
The database, according to the spokesperson, has some 6,000 reports, some of them relating to the same incident. Members of the public as well airline professionals are among those who have filed these reports.

Since almost all the movies that feature extraterrestrials and UFOs -- E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of The Third Kind and Independence Day -- have been major hits, the agency's archive could receive huge response.
