An Iraqi group linked to Al Qaeda has claimed responsibility for Thursday's bombing of the country's parliament.
The Islamic State of Iraq issued a statement on Friday saying it carried out the suicide attack on what it called the "infidel parliament".
The statement was posted on a website often used by Iraqi armed groups.
"A knight from the state of Islam ... reached the heart of the Green Zone ... the temporary headquarters of the mice of the infidel parliament and blew himself up among a gathering of the infidel masters, " it said.
One person was killed and 22 injured in one of the worst attacks ever carried out in Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone.
Earlier reports had suggested that eight people had died in the attack.

The US and Iraq have begun an investigation into the blast.
Three cafeteria workers have been detained and the bodyguards of some parliamentarians are being questioned.
Al Jazeera was told that Iraqi security forces found two further devices outside the parliament building that were probably intended to be detonated as MPs were running away from the original blast.

I wanted to post this because I have seen several new agencies still reporting incorrect information.
The Islamic State of Iraq is an Islamist umbrella organization established in 2006 "to protect the Sunni Iraqi people and defend Islam, by the Pact of the Scented People". It is composed of a variety of insurgency groups, including the Mujahideen Shura Council in Iraq, Conquering Army (Jeish al-Fatiheen), Army Squad of the Prophet Muhammad (Jund al-Sahaba), Brigades of Al-Tawhid Wal Sunnah, and Sunni tribes.
The formation of the Mujahideen Shura Council in Iraq was first announced on January 15, 2006, in a statement posted to the Jihadist website Hanin Net. The statement was signed by the spokesman for Tenzheem Qa'adah al-Jihad (Al-Qaeda in Iraq ), Abu Maysarah al-Iraqi.
