Jemaah Islamiyah Recruiting Women for Bombing Missions

Via ABS-CBN News (Philippines) -

KORONADAL CITY – The Jemaah Islamiyah, al Qaeda’s terror arm in Southeast Asia, is reportedly recruiting women to carry out bombing missions in public terminals in Central Mindanao.

Senior Superintendent Edwin Corvera, deputy regional director for administration of the police regional office in Central Mindanao, said they had been receiving reports that the local-trained members of JI will utilize women for terrorist activities in the region.

“We received reports about it from our reliable sources. We are still verifying it,” Corvera told The STAR in a telephone interview.

He said whether the reports are true or not, it’s better for them “to be always prepared against terrorist attacks.”

...

Corvera said he also ordered all the police units to intensify their “Operation Kapkap” by deploying policewomen in public terminals to search female passengers in anticipation of the possible entry of lady bombers.

As far as I can tell....

Opeation Kapkap is a method used by the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct random body searches of people suspected of carrying deadly weapons or firearms.
