Moroccan police today arrested four people alleged to have links to a man accused of attempting to blow up a coachload of foreign tourists, a police official said.
The four suspects were arrested after being named by Hicham Dokkali, who tried to board the bus carrying a butane gas bottle in the historic city of Meknes yesterday, the Moroccan news agency MAP reported, citing a police official.
Dokkali had an arm blown off and suffered liver injuries when he detonated the bottle outside the bus, after the driver closed the door and barred his entry. None of the passengers was injured.
Dokkali has been transferred to a hospital in the capital, Rabat, and was in a critical condition.
