Tools of the Trade - Now Enriched w/ Ginsenosides!

Ginsenosides are a class of steroid-like compounds, triterpene saponins, found exclusively in the plant genus Panax (ginseng). Ginsenoside content can vary widely depending on species, location of growth, and age at harvest.

On to the tools....

1) On Oct 8th, icesurfer released SQLNinja 0.2.1-r1. Sqlninja is a tool targeted to exploit SQL Injection vulnerabilities on a web application that uses Microsoft SQL Server as its back-end.

2) On Oct 4th, Java released Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 3. This release fixes several serious security issues.

3) On Oct 3rd, Mark Russinovich & Microsoft released Process Monitor v1.2. Process Monitor is an advanced monitoring tool for Windows that shows real-time file system, Registry and process/thread activity.

4) On Oct 3rd, OWASP released DirBuster 0.9.8. DirBuster is a multi threaded java application designed to brute force directories and files names on web/application servers. Improvements include:

• Faster up to 6000 requests/seconds
• Parsing of HTML pages found
• Scanning of multiple file extensions
• Multiple bug fixes
• Minor improvements to the GUI

5) On Oct 2nd, Hernan Ochoa released WifiZoo v1.2. WifiZoo is a tool to gather wifi information passively. I haven't personally used this tool and have a hard time finding any function that can not be archived with Kismet, Dsniff or Ethereal.


6) On Oct 1st, Immunity Inc. released Immunity Debugger 1.20 Build 0. This release includes announce the first beta version of our free Vista Heap Library, which supports the new 'Freelist' and Low Fragmentation Chunk. Also included in this release is the new recognition library using heuristic patterns, with a huge database of known windows static functions. Immunity does require you to sign off your life to them for the download, so I would recommend Mailinator.


7) On Sept 29th, Stefan Haglund released CDBurnerXP Pro 4.0.015.277. CDBurnerXP is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs, including Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs.
