The Mexican army arrested several alleged drug traffickers in separate operations, seizing 95 weapons, eight houses and 35 vehicles of different kinds in the northwestern state of Sinaloa, authorities announced on Sunday.
Spokesmen for the Joint Culiacan Novolato Guamuchil Mazatlan Operation," which is being directed by the army in Sinaloa, said in a communique that these were the results achieved between March 1 and March 6 in the municipalities of Culiacan, Navolato, Salvador Alvarado, Cosala, El Fuerte, Guasave, San Ignacio, Mocorito and Badiraguato.
The leaders of the operation thanked the local public for bravely providing anonymous tips that allowed authorities to make the arrests and property seizures, to the detriment of organized crime, particularly drug trafficking bands.
