Disabling AOL Lifestream for AIM

If you use AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), it automatically publishes a feed of your chat status at lifestream.aol.com - and it's opt-out, not opt-in. Shame on you AOL.

For more information on Lifestream, check here.

Here is how you opt-out....

Step 1: Go to http://lifestream.aol.com/ and sign in using your AIM credentials.

Step 2: In the upper right hand corner, select "Account" -> "Settings".

Step 3: Under "Share updates from this account with", modify the default "Everyone - Public" to "No one - Private"

Thanks to Chris Hanson (@eschaton) for the reminder.
