Unknown Disruption in Al-Qaeda Media Wing

This blog will be short and sorta vague - on purpose.

Many people in the unofficial CT world have been waiting days for a copy of the Al-Qaeda video which was suppose to be released three days ago. Al-Jazeera released clips form the video several days before Sept 11th, so we know the video exist. It is unknown if Al-Jazeera has the full length video or just a part of it....

But as far as I can tell, it was never officially released by As-Sahab. There are also unconfirmed reports that several high-level militants online forums have been shut down (just this week)...and are currently offline. If true, it could indicate a rather unprecedented takedown.

At least one person is speculating that a possible arrest in some part of the militant online community may have lead to many more getting shut down - like a deck of cards.

At this point, it is hard to tell what is going on from the outside.

I guess we will find out in due time.

UPDATE (9/15/08) - Internet Haganah is reporting the same observation. Reason is still unknown. Even if people were arrested, I will only be a matter of time before someone puts up the remaining digital arms and continues the work. Rusty from The Jawa Report is reporting the outage as well. I would like to say publicily that I too have nothing to do with this...I am only reporting what I see on the internet (or in this case, what I don't see).
