Via playfuls.com -

Singer Keith Urban sued New Jersey artist Keith Urban, accusing the painter of using their common name to sell his art on keithurban.com.

The Web site for Urban the country singer and husband to actress Nicole Kidman is keithurban.net.

The complaint, filed U.S. District Court in Tennessee where the singer lives, said the New Jersey-based Urban "registered an Internet domain name and has structured a related Web site with the intent of producing confusion" about who's sponsoring the site and the source of the merchandise for sale, Eonline.com said.

While the man doesn't claim to be the Grammy Award winner, the singer accused the painter of federal trademark infringement, dilution of a federally registered trademark, federal unfair competition, violation of the Anti-Cyber Squatting Consumer Protection Act and violations of the Tennessee Consumer Protection and Personal Rights Protection Acts, according to the lawsuit.

The singer also wants keithurban.com transferred to him, asks for unspecified damages and a permanent injunction forbidding the New Jersey Urban from using keithurban.com or any Web site that would suggest a connection with the singer, the complaint said.
