Space tourist and fellow Austinitie Richard Garriott is back on Earth after spending 12 days in the cosmos.
Garriott, a 47-year-old video game developer, paid $30 million for the trip through Space Adventures, Ltd., which arranges orbital travel for private citizens.

On Oct 21st, Open 9.61 was released. A full-featured Internet browser, Opera includes pop-up blocking, tabbed browsing, integrated searches, and advanced functions like Opera's groundbreaking E-mail program, RSS Newsfeeds and IRC chat. This version was released to address several very serious security issues. Sadly, at least one very serious was discovered on the same day as its release. Currently, this new issues are not patched.
On Oct 20th, Wireshark 1.0.4 was released. Wireshark is the world's foremost network protocol analyzer, and is the de facto (and often de jure) standard across many industries and educational institutions. This version addresses several security-related bugs in the Bluetooth ACL, Bluetooth RFCOMM, PRP, Q.931, MATE, and USB dissectors, as well as the Tammos CommView file parser have been fixed. On Oct 17th, mIRC v6.35 was released. mIRC is a full featured Internet Relay Chat client for Windows that can be used to communicate, share, play or work with others on IRC networks around the world, either in multi-user group conferences or in one-to-one private discussions. This version was released to address a serious buffer overflow vulnerability.
On Oct 15th, CDBurner 4.2.21012 was released. CDBurnerXP Pro is a freeware CD/DVD-Writer program. The program can write CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R/RW, and DVD-R/RW discs.
On Oct 15th, Adobe Flash 10.0.12.36 was released. This version was released to address several security issues (including the famous 'Clickjacking").
On Oct 9th, Adam Laurie released RFIDIOt v0.1t. RFIDIOt is a python library for exploring RFID devices. This version added support for JCOP Machine Readable Travel Documents. In addition, THC has released a customized version of RFIDIOt that allows you to read a chip's content and write it to an emulator - thc-rfidiot.zip.
On Oct 9th, OpenOffice 3.0 was released. OpenOffice is the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers. It stores all your data in an international open standard format and can also read and write files from other common office software packages. On Oct 3rd, OWASP DirBuster v0.12 was released. DirBuster is a multi threaded java application designed to brute force directories and files names on web/application servers.
On Oct 3rd, Cain & Abel v4.9.23 was released. This version includes several VoIP features (LRWB-16Khz codec support, MGCP/RTP sniffer filter, etc). On XP/2003, Cain now supports passwords/hashes/secrets extraction even if executed in Terminal Server sessions.
On Sept 29th, CCleaner 2.12.660 was released. CCleaner is a freeware system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. This version includes improved Google Chrome support and several other minor tweaks.
On Sept 29th, WinSCP 4.1.7 was released. WinSCP is freeware SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) and SCP (Secure CoPy) client for Windows using SSH (Secure Shell). This release is mainly a bug fix. See the changelog for all the details.
